Aims of
Research and Development Cell:
The Research and Development Cell of Erode
Sengunthar Engineering College aims to nurture research culture in the
institute by promoting research in newly emerging and challenging areas of
science, engineering and technology. It encourages the faculty members, UG
and PG students to undertake the research in newly emerging frontier areas.
This enhances the general research capability of budding technocrats by way
of participating in conferences, seminars, workshops, project competition,
etc.
Objectives of R and
D Cell:

To motivate the faculty members of the group
for R&D activities in the area of their specialization

To create awareness and opportunities in
Research and Development among the under graduate and post graduate
students and to create Research and Development atmosphere in every
department

To create interest and atmosphere among the
staff members to take up Research projects and improve their knowledge,
skills and qualifications

To encourage staff members and students to
prepare technical papers for publishing in National and reputed
International Conferences/ Journals.

To streamline the methodology for
preparation, scrutinizing, updating and formatting the papers to publish
in refereed journals.

To develop R&D infrastructure and central
facilities for optimal resource utilization.

To encourage faculty members of all the
disciplines in engineering/science /humanities in R&D activities for their
professional growth.

To assist to apply for conducting research
by students for the student project scheme under Tamil Nadu State Council
for Science and Technology (TNSCST), etc.

To obtain current circulars, regularize and
do follow-up for applying funded projects in various funding agencies,
etc.

To assist for applying and getting funds for
conducting Seminar/Workshop/FDP from various funding agencies like AICTE,
DST, CSIR, etc.

To assist to get industrial projects on
national importance for UG/PG students.

To enhance the research
awareness on upcoming technologies by conducting
events like national and international conferences, workshops on research
methodology and patents, symposia, guest lectures with the
assistance of respective departments.
